is in the Comtat Venaissin region, next to the Mont-Ventoux and a few kilometres away from the Luberon area and Avignon.

Part of the “Comtat Venaissin”, heiress to a long tradition of arts and crafts, Pernes counts around 20 craftsmen and women like the cabinet maker, the tapestry maker, the bookbinder, the jeweller, the interior designer, the local costume maker, the sculptor, the potter, the framer, the blacksmith.

Former capital of the “Comtat Venaissin” from 1125 to 1320, this millenary city owns a rich architectural heritage such as its 40 public fountains, its roman church, its dungeon of the former castle of the counts of Toulouse, its frescoes from the XIIIth century in the tower Ferrande, its town hall from the XVIIth century, its covered cross from the XVth century, its 3 fortified gates, its numerous chapels, its mansion houses, its ramparts and its museums.

Pernes les Fontaines offers a pleasant work environment to all the craftsmen and women, and in order to promote even more their work, a project, called “Gare des Métiers d’Art” is about to be created.
